The sandy beach is about 100 yd wide and 1.5 miles long. You can sunbathe and acquire a Mediterranean tan away from the crowds, practise sea sports, or enjoy the exhilaration of parascending over the bay.

There are lovely drives in the wild Cinarca Valley, and you can taste the best wines in Corsica, at Sari d'Orcino 6 mi. away. Ajaccio is both a holiday resort and an arts centre only 16 mi. from Liscia: the Fesch Museum contains 1200 italian paintings from the 14th to the 18th century, and there is a music festival in the summer ; it is a pleasant place just to wander around, with its narrow old streets and friendly restaurants. One must is a half-day excursion by boat to the Natural Parc of Scandola to discover its amazing geological features, rare wildlife and flora (boat leaves from Sagone, 5 mi. away).
